How to Adjust the Pneumatic Door Closer?
Adjusting a pneumatic door closer is a relatively easy process that can be done in just a few steps. Here's how:
1. Adjust the speed of the door closing. Pneumatic door closers come with two separate adjustment screws for regulating the speed of the door as it closes - one for the closing speed and one for the latch speed. Locate these screws on the cylinder body and use a screwdriver to adjust them as needed. Turn the screws clockwise for faster speeds and counterclockwise for slower speeds.
2. Adjust the force of the door closer. If the door is not closing all the way or is slamming shut, you may need to adjust the force of the door closer. Look for the adjustment screw located on the end of the pneumatic cylinder and turn it clockwise to increase the force or counterclockwise to decrease it.
3. Adjust the hold-open time (if applicable). Some pneumatic door closers come with a hold-open feature that keeps the door open for a specified amount of time before closing automatically. If your door closer has this feature, locate the adjustment screw near the hold-open valve and turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the hold-open time as needed.
4. Test the adjustment. Once you have made your adjustments, test the door to make sure it opens and closes smoothly and at the desired speed and force. If further adjustments are needed, repeat the process until the door closes properly.
Note: It's important to refer to the instructions prior to adjusting your door closer, as some models may have slightly different adjustments or processes for making adjustments.
